Hi my name is Daisy Ramirez; I attend Hartnell College and California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB). I’m in a program in where you can graduate in three years, with a bachelor degree in Computer Science and get a job once you graduate. This program is called CSIT-in-3. Not only is it helping us with our goals but to achieve the best of the best. This is truly an important program, I’m glad I decided to join.

Right now I’m taking 18 units, which is five classes. Every day I go to school with a big smile on my face, ready to learn new things, things that will help me in the future. While being in this program I’m not allowed to get and grade below of a C, which is truly a challenge, I stay at school until I’m practically kicked out. I stay there studying and doing homework. I can actually say I live there; I get home between 10-11pm.

My true plans were to attend an out of state school, for example go to Paris and study Computer Science there. But I didn’t get to do that since I wasn’t ready to leave home from my parents and family. I decided to attend Cabrillo and then go to MIT, but my plans completely changed when Jacob mention that I could graduate in three years, with a bachelor degree, and job. I was still undecided. I knew little about this program, so I decided to do some research and what he told me was all true. The best part was that I would be able to afford it and I wouldn’t have to be in debt by the time I graduate. So I decided to take a chance and go for this program. I met so many awesome people, which are now my friends. In this program everybody treats each other equally, like a family.

There was a point in my life that I wanted to go to Paris and study abroad. But I knew since I was in middle school that I was going to follow a career in computer science. It all started with Girl Game Company, but now it’s known as Watsonville Tech. In Girl Game I learned how to make games using Stage Cast Creator and an Xbox control, I also learned how to use Alice, which is a program and where you do animation. While doing all these activities, I knew that I wanted to do something like this in my future. I had so much fun and being involved in this program helped me and guide myself to a great future.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to do later on in the computer science field, well I still don’t know what part of that field I want to look into, but I know that my passion is with technology. I’m lucky that I have this opportunity and know for sure that I will not take it for granted.
